Three of a kind

A poker hand containing three cards that are the exact same rank.

Totalisator

Racing bets placed in centralised pools from various on and off-course betting channels. ‘Tote’ bets are settled by the calculation and provision of a dividend payout for each winning pool selection.

Track

Premises on which races of any description, athletic sports or other sporting events take place.

True odds

Odds as they would be if they reflected the actual probability of winning (as opposed to reflecting where the money goes eg to the house in the form of commission).
